to tell it the simple way, paintball is a combination/mix of "fangis" and "räuber and poli" - for young people and those who want to have fun. the game is being played on a defined playing area, i.e. a lawn or a suitable part of a forest.

there are many varieties of paintball. the most popular is "capture the flag". two teams are playing against each other. the goal of the game is to caputure the flag of the opponent and to bring it back to the own base - without being "marked". during the game, marked players are separated. there are many more varieties of the game, which in principle to not much differentiate from the one described.

the paintball sports is these days spread worldwide with leagues, tournaments, championships, even world-cups - based on detailed rules. meanwhile, paintball is worldwide established and accepted (sponsors like coca-cola and sony are often present). a whole industry has been built around paintball which covers all requirements of a paintball player, like equipment, clothing, a.s.o. and does not leave open any wishes.

in the meantime, paintball is being played in 104 countries. the usa alone has 16 paintball magazines with a monthly edition of 420'000 magazines, 1'160 shops, in which paintball equipment is being sold, 950 commercial playing fields, 5'500 paintball-tournament teams, 220 paintball-leagues or bigger tournaments and 105 universities, which do have an official paintball-team. (this was for the year 1999, and paintball is growing faster and faster!!)

from the early 90ies, pbmax ™ is organizing paintball-events for companies, associations, schools and individual groups. in rudolfstetten/ag, we do have one of europe's largest and most competent paintball shops. we do as well have the biggest paintballclub of switzerland with far more than a hundred members. furthermore, we do have two own tournament teams which successfully participate on international competitions.

some conditions you should bring with you:

• you like nature and you have fun in working out
• minimum age:: 14 years (without parents).  younger players only when accompanied by their parents
• good shoes and appropriate clothing (although the paintball color can easily be washed out, please do not wear an "armani-suit")
• scarf or something to proctect your neck
• good mood.... everything else we will have ready for you!

• there were already games with more than 5000 players
• that in the USA, they have tournaments with aged men and women
• according to a us-statistic, paintball is less dangerous in regards to accidents than ping-pong
